There are numerous ways to get to Happy Cat Retreat from Boulder. I’ve tried them all and this is my recommendation for the quickest way and least number of stop lights. Wherever you are in Boulder, take North Foothills Highway to Colorado 66 near Lyons and turn right, traveling to Hwy 287 on south end of Longmont. Take Hwy 287 north and pay attention to the intersection and exit 287 to CR 17. This will take you west of Loveland and bypass going through Loveland. CR 17 will change to North Taft Hill in Loveland and change again to North Shields as you exit Loveland. Follow this straight to the light at Shields & Trilby, turn left on Trilby and Thompson Drive is first dirt street on right about 1/3 mile. Turn right and we are 2nd house on the left. Take a left at the top of the drive and pull down into the main driveway where you will see our office.
